Last Thursday evening (April 4th) I stepped out of the cold and into the beautifully refurbished Zen Lifestyle spa at Teviot Place, Edinburgh. I was invited along to their beauty networking event and couldn’t wait to see what the evening would hold. The welcome was warm and the bubbles were cold – what more could a girl want? I arrived prompt with Leanne (life according to lea), having been lucky enough to secure a complimentary Blink and Go lash appointment for 5.30pm. Bubbly in hand we were shown down stairs to the fabulous lash and HD brow bar. As I was having my lashes done Leanne managed to get an express shellac slot. The Beauty Therapist for my Blink and go treatment was Ellie from the Hanover Street branch of Zen, she ran through a quick consultation before the Treatment began. You can read all about my treatment here – Blink and Go.
Following my treatment I headed back upstairs to mingle with the masses of other people who had arrived. Fluttering my new lashes – In a non flirty way, I introduced myself to Rebecca from AJC PR – the company who had helped to organise the event. I had met Rebecca minutes before, but had to keep my eyes closed during my treatment, it is very strange having to keep your eyes closed and speak to someone you haven’t met before.
Zen lifestyle Owner and Director Fiona gave us a tour around the spa. The first floor of the impressive salon features a reception desk, 2 treatment rooms, a manicure area and items displayed for retail. Downstairs has 2 further beauty rooms, a tanning room, the Hd Brow and lash bar and a chic seating area.
Zen Lifestyle offer a full array of treatments including: Blink and Go lashes , HD Brows, Shellac, Clear and brilliant – you can view the full list here – Zen Menu
Looking at the treatment menu you wouldn’t be mistaken for thinking the prices are relatively high in comparison to some beauty salons. So why would you choose somewhere with higher prices? Its simple really, its in their name, so much more than a salon… it’s a lifestyle. From the sleek salon finishes in white and purple, the perfectly chosen flower arrangements, the amazingly knowledgable and well-trained staff, the impressive leading technology led treatments, the gorgeous mood lightened rooms. My personal favourite touch, is the individual tablets in each room (no not drug type tablets) the media tablets that can show before and after photos of treatments, they also offer customised playlists on the to suit your treatment and mood. Zen strikes me as a high-end, up market, impressive spa that’s fully welcoming to all and takes pride in fully customizing services to suit clients individual needs. After all, as well know hair care brand like to say “you’re worth it”.
I had a great evening and look forward to returning to Zen soon for a relaxing massage, I’m looking as forward to the environment as i am the treatment, with relaxing mood lighting, a beautiful fragrance and chilled out music – I can’t wait!
Here’s a little peak inside my goody bag
