What we say: We love the super girly packaging in classic pink/purple and white. I used the magical moisture mask and really liked the results, I liked the creamy texture of the mask and my skin was left feeling soft and hydrated. The other girls have the masks the thumbs up and think the individual sachets are perfect for a girls night in.

Argentum La Potion Infinie

Argentum La Potion Infinie – Part of my Spa at Home reviews

What they say: Normally I try to sum up the product claims in my own words, however I found Argentum a little bit complicated to explain. So this is what they say on the webpage: La potion infinie is 99.5% naturally derived. Comprising of Silver Hydrosol & DNA HP it is a super hydrating, restorative, anti-age cream. Its unique synthesis of powerful active ingredients will have a profound effect on your skin, resulting in an all-encompassing spiritual and physical treatment of wrinkles, facial blemishes and oxidative stress. Silver Hydrosol regulates skin flora with its natural anti-bacterial properties. DNA HP promotes cell regeneration, crucially the production of collagen and elastin and reduces lipid peroxidation. Its high molecular weight results in excellent absorption, enabling optimum hydration. This synergetic action results in tissue regeneration and acts as a powerful antioxidant – a bioactive formula, delivering a new experience for a visibly healthier complexion. What we say: One of the girls, Yvonne, was super excited to review this product, having previously used samples from her Glossybox she had more than enough good things to say about it: “It tightens, it firms and your skin glows” were her claims. I used the cream morning and evening for 3 days and it did indeed provide an instant tightening and smoothing feeling. I found the cream a bit strong for my skin type and had a little irritation over my cheekbones. I would perhaps only use the cream on occasions I felt my skin needed a treat. I passed on my remaining samples to my mum and watched her amazement as she felt her skin lightly tighten. I think this product it perfect for someone with a few more laughter lines than myself and could see a difference in my mums skins after a few uses.

Totally in love with the packaging

With ingredients including silver it is no surprise that Argentum is situated at the higher end of the beauty market £147.00 (70ml) Here or if you want to try a little before you buy you can get a sample size here despite the high price tag I would have no hesitation in purchasing if my skin was more mature.

Such a generous sample size.

Fairwell my scarlet pimperhell Deep Clensing mud mask – Is perfect for a weekly treat. This deep action treatment purifys skin, boosts circulation and cleanse pores. Leaving skin feeling refreshed, smooth and glowing.

Thats when I fell for the Leader of the (Hair) Pack Deep conditioning Hair Pack – This deep Conditioning Hair treatment gives you glossy looking hair. Developed to leave hair feeling shiny, glossy and healthy again.

20130305-113144.jpg

What we say: With catchy names and fun slogans the Anatomical products are great for a girls night in. The face mask works quickly and leaves skin feeling soft. Its great fun pretending to be shrek or a swamp monster (no maybe just me). The hair mask is thin in consitensy but still delivers smooth managable hair. The products are budget range and a very good price. We would absolutely buy these again for a fun night in. Some of the girls recieved a rose scented shower get by anatomicals in their Glossy Boxes and rate it very high. With the brand tag line ‘we only want you for your body’ being possibly the only time you will be thankful for the sentiment.

A range of anatomical goodies are avalible to buy on ASOS here. Also avalible in a range of supermarkets, selfridges and superdrugs. The masks retail for around £4.99 for a pack of 5.

Spa at Home – Introduction

During my recent trip to Stobo Castle I gave the other 3 girls with me (including Leannea goodie bag each. Filled with products to review and chocolate to eat. In a two weeks time we would meet back up for … Continue reading

When the going gets tough… The girls go to Stobo

Case packed … goodie bags ready… The horn beeps…
It’s time to go! Four excited girls heading for an overnight stay at the renowned Stobo Castle in Peebleshire. The car journey was full of chat including “where’s the nearest pub”, “I’m going for a 6am swim”, “lets dance the dragon”. Might I add dancing the dragon is a fitness class that Stobo offer, it is not me being nasty in regards to the other girls dancing skills. An hour and zero wrong (who says girls can’t navigate… Oh iPhone I love you) turns later we have arrived into the sweeping driveway. I strongly resited the urge to call ‘honey I’m home’ throughout the whole building as I opened the front door. We were welcomed by a lovely lady and given an introduction to the spa. The only comparison I can make is to the scene in Anne when she is welcomed into daddy warbucks house. Fortunately i didn’t burst into song. A choice of three dining rooms, for breakfast and lunch we were welcome to dine in our robes, for dinner we must dress. A reading room full of current newspapers. A delightful covered courtyard area doubled as the spa reception and waiting area. All checked in and ready to go.

Needless to say we were tucked up in bed for 11pm thoroughly relaxed and although someone’s plans of visiting the nearest pub were dashed there was still hope for a 7am (yes i know, previously 6 but the pool opens at 7) swim.

Minus the disturbance of the room radio alarm going off at 1am I had a delightful sleep. So much so that the 7am swim was half an hour later than planned.

After breakfast I enjoyed two treatments, my first ever reflexology session and a half hour back massage. I had a little time on my own in-between treatments and took the opportunity to relax in the reading room. Wrapped in my robe, curled on the sofa in front of the open fire I had the room all to myself.

Gosh I felt like a princess in my very own magical castle. My peace was quickly shattered as two ladies loudly entered my tranquil moment! I could have put on my best posh Edinburgh accent and requested ‘please ladies…hush’ but rather than make a scene I shot them my best not impressed look and headed off to my massage.

Treatments done and all packed ready to go, we settled the bill and headed for lunch. I was slightly disappointed that we needed to be out the rooms and settled the bill by 12noon although we were given a slight extension due to treatment times and lunch was served after bills were settled.

After an amazing three course lunch and failing to convince the staff to let us move in, we even offered to live in the shed! it was time to head home.

3 bottles of bubbly down we headed home feeling relaxed, pampered, talking about the great time we had and wishing we had booked two nights.

I asked the girls to sum up the experience in three words. “Worth every penny” “extra special pampering” “no kids allowed” #peace “amazing. Hilarious. Unforgettable”. My three words are “I’ll be back!”

We booked the 1 night stay at the amazing price of £109pp based on two sharing for dinner, bed, breakfast, lunch and full use of facilities. Treatments were added on top, a full treatment menu is available on the website.
